Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the Hohoe Constituency, has filed his nomination forms to contest the parliamentary seat.

He said when voted for as the Member of Parliament, he would take Hohoe to the next level where development and job creation would be priority.

Mr Tsekpo addressing the teeming supporters after filing his nomination forms, said he was elated with the love shown him by constituents.

He said he would serve them wholeheartedly and was not a person who would abandon his duties when given a task adding that all projects, he undertook within the last year could not be compared to what the incumbent Member of Parliament had done since voted for in 2020.

Mr Tsekpo said when elected as an MP, he would be truthful, meet, and listen to the constituents and do all they wanted.

He called on all constituents to work hard and bring others on board for victory in the December 7 general elections.

Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, North Tongu Member of Parliament, said the outpour of joy that characterised the filing process showed that reclaiming the Seat was a done deal.

He asked the constituents to continue to show love and not let complacency set in their efforts in returning the parliamentary seat back to the NDC.

Mr Ablakwa said the projects initiated and executed by Mr Tsekpo were commendable, which showed how hardworking and committed he was to the people he would lead.

He asked them to go from shop to shop, church to church, house to house to propagate the good message the Party had to others and bring them on board.

Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Secretary of the Party, said the integrity of the register had been compromised and whatever must be done by the Electoral Commission to make the voters register credible should be done to make the 2024 general elections free and fair.

In a separate development, the Party launched its campaign and inaugurated campaign committee members under the Central Campaign Team, Campaign Advisory Committee, Special Duties, Campus Connect/First-Time voters, Transport Unions and SMEs/Artisans Lead Committees.

Mr Gunu, inaugurating the Committee, urged them to work diligently to reclaim the Seat for the Hohoe Constituency.

Mr Ablakwa said the NDC manifesto which was recently launched had captured the Hohoe Constituency with many projects for it such as elevation to Metropolitan status, supply of water and completion of the Fodome campus of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).

He said winning the Hohoe Seat was important to the NDC because it would help bring about the developmental projects that had been trumpeted.

Mr Tsekpo said projects such as irrigation farming, palm oil production, scholarships, roads, educational and infrastructure development, water supply, building of market among other projects would begin while those started would be continued when voted for as the MP.

He said the Constituency manifesto would be a social contract between the Party and all the five traditional areas in the Constituency.

Mr Newton Darkey, Constituency Chair of the Party urged party faithful to adopt the campaign as a communal labour.

He asked them to visit all electorates and constituents to propagate the good plans the Party had for the nation and the Constituency.

Mr Darkey called on the party faithful not to vote “skirt and blouse” in the 2024 general elections but rather vote massively for Mr Tsekpo and Mr John Dramani Mahama for development.

Mr Mathias Agbaxode, the Hohoe Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) has switched camp and declared his support for the NDC parliamentary candidate adding that he saw the development projects executed by Mr Tsekpo and decided to support him.
