The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for the New Juaben North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Samuel Adongo, has called on Ghanaians, especially people in the constituency, to vote massively for the NDC in the forthcoming December 7 general election.

That, he indicated, would enable the NDC to address the economic challenges confronting the country as a result of the maladministration of the current government. He made the call when he addressed a gathering of mostly the youth after a health walk at the party’s constituency office at Effiduase, last Saturday.

The walk was to rekindle the spirit of the NDC and galvanise support for the party to be victorious at the polls at both the parliamentary and presidential levels.

Unemployment

Mr Adongo said most of the youth were now unemployed as such could not earn anything for their livelihoods, especially paying for basic needs such as food, due to the worsening economic situation.

“You are to carry the message of salvation to every home within the constituency because what we are experiencing now is unbearable and the only way to reverse the situation is to let the people kick out the NPP.

“This can only be possible if most of the households turn out on December 7 to vote out the NPP,” Mr Adongo told the enthusiastic supporters and sympathisers of the NDC.

He stated that the NDC flag bearer, John Mahama, who was the President between 2012 and 2016, brought a lot of development to the country and improvement in the living standards of the people.

Mr Adongo said it was only Mr Mahama who could restore hope to the country by addressing the myriad of challenges facing the country, particularly the high cost of living and unemployment.

“Ghana currently needs change, a change in government which will lead to improvement in the living conditions of the people,” he stated.

Concerning his chances of winning the constituency seat, which had always been occupied by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Adongo stated that the hardship being experienced in the constituency had drawn the people to the side of the NDC, adding that he would definitely win the seat, come December 7.

He assured residents in the constituency that when voted to power, Mr Mahama’s administration would complete all ongoing projects in the area that had been abandoned by the NPP.
