The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced its plan to deploy party agents to oversee the upcoming voter transfer exercise.

The exercise is scheduled to take place from today, Wednesday, 3 July 2024 to Friday, 5 July 2024.

The exercise will take place at various Electoral Commission (EC) District Offices and 25 designated university campuses nationwide.

In a statement, signed by its General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, the NDC emphasised the importance of having adequate representation during this crucial process.

The statement read: “In our ongoing commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process, we must have adequate representation during the upcoming voter transfer exercise.”

The voter transfer exercise allows prison inmates, students, and security personnel from the Special Duty list to transfer their votes to constituencies where they currently reside.

The NDC directed each constituency to deploy party agents to all EC District Offices and the 25 designated university campuses where the transfer process will be conducted.

The party stressed the significance of their agents’ presence in monitoring the process, assisting members, and reporting any irregularities that may arise.

“The presence of our agents is crucial to monitor the process, assist our members, and report any irregularities that may arise,” the statement noted.

The NDC also highlighted the necessity of briefing the deployed agents on their roles and responsibilities and equipping them with the necessary materials to perform their duties efficiently.
