Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, the Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency, has urged the government to provide better resources for security agencies to help track down the murderers of two security guards in Wa.

Speaking on Ahotor FM‘s morning show “Adekyee Mu Nsem” with host Citizen Kofi Owusu, Dr. Pelpuo suggested that these recent killings might be linked to spiritual practices.

He mentioned that a group of individuals with strange beliefs might have moved into the area and are committing these heinous acts.

The community of Wa is now living in fear following the brutal murders of two private security guards. These men were killed at their respective duty posts in separate attacks—one at the Wa East office of the Ghana Education Service and the other at Wa Model Junior High School.

In 2023 alone, a total of eleven security personnel were mysteriously killed in Wa. This alarming pattern has prompted the Ghana Police Service to begin an investigation into the recent deaths in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region.

Dr. Pelpuo has appealed to the authorities to strengthen and equip the security agencies to ensure they can effectively arrest the perpetrators and end these tragic incidents.
