Former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent promises to fix Ghana’s economy if elected President.
Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo argues that Dr. Bawumia, who heads the Economic Management Team, has overseen the decline of the Cedi and therefore lacks the credibility to make such promises.
In an interview on Metro TV’s “Good Afternoon Ghana,” Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo stated that Ghanaians cannot trust Dr. Bawumia to lead the country, as he has shown no ability to offer real solutions.
He accused Dr. Bawumia of pretending to have the knowledge and skills to stabilize the Cedi, calling it a facade.
Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo also highlighted that Ghana’s current minimum wage cannot even buy a loaf of bread, criticizing Dr. Bawumia for only promising to address labor issues if he becomes President.
He said Akufo-Addo picked Dr. Bawumia as running mate because of his economic background but he is not focused on the economy now.
The NDC former National Chairman said the NPP has no clue in finding solution to Ghana’s problems.
He took a swipe at Dr. Bawumia that, he always takes glory and run away from responsibility and such is not a quality of a good leader.
Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s comments reflect deep skepticism about Dr. Bawumia’s economic leadership and his ability to fulfill his promises if elected President.
