The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed doubt about the Electoral Commission’s (EC) commitment to address their issues on the 2024 voters’ register.
Speaking on Asempa FM Ekosii Sen, the Director of IT and Elections, Dr Edward Omane Boamah said the Commission has given them enough reasons to be skeptical.
He cited various irregularities, including duplication and the existence of discrepancies they claimed to have resolved, stating it raises questions about the EC’s competence.
“The things that have happened, do you expect us to allow Bano-Bio, Dr Bossman and the other IT guy to come and tell us everything is fine and we will leave it like that? No. They should prepare and wait for us on Tuesday,” he stated.
A Deputy Chairperson EC, Dr Bossman Asare has insisted that, the Commission has addressed all the discrepancies raised by the NDC, concerning the provisional voter’s register.
In this regard, Dr Asare stated that the responsibility now lies with the NDC to present evidence of any remaining challenges.
But Dr Boamah has said the NDC can’t hand over their incontrovertible data to the EC without a third independent body.
