The Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Elikem Kotoko, has reaffirmed the party’s confidence in winning the upcoming election, with a margin of at least 52%.
He attributed this optimism to the exceptional experience and leadership skills of their flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, who possesses the requisite expertise to steer the country towards progress.
Elikem Kotoko stressed the importance of a united front among party loyalists to achieve this objective.
He made these remarks while addressing party faithful at the acclamation ceremony of Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Wassa Amenfi Central Constituency, where she was officially endorsed as the party’s candidate for the upcoming election.
“We are confident of winning the next election with a margin of at least 52%. We will win at the polling stations, and we won’t need to go to court to resolve the outcome.
His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has the experience and leadership skills to guide our country forward. He has never shied away from responsibility, including his role as Chair of the Economic Management Team.
He has consistently demonstrated the courage to confront challenges head-on. In contrast, our opponents claim to be champions of 31 policies, but when it comes to the economy, they only talk about digitalization. We need leaders who are truthful, honest, and take responsibility for their actions. We need leaders who can admit when they have made mistakes and are willing to fix them,” he said.
On the economy, Elikem is asking the Vice President and the flagbearer of New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia questions “Look at the state of our economy today – the exchange rate, the price of petrol, the cost of living. Is this the Ghana we envisioned? Is this the Ghana they promised us? That’s why we need to unite as a front moving into the December 7th elections”.
In a related development, Elikem Kotoko, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to promoting peace and peaceful processes in the upcoming election.
However, he also emphasized that the party will not sacrifice justice for the sake of peace, urging advocates of peace to equally demand justice.
He stated that the NDC will not endorse any document from the National Peace Council that compromises justice, reiterating the party’s unwavering dedication to upholding the principles of justice and fairness.
“I assure you all that the NDC is committed to a peaceful electoral process and expects a peaceful election. However, we believe that peace and justice are inseparable. Therefore, we urge those advocating for peace to also demand justice.
The NDC will not endorse any document from the Peace Council that compromises peace or undermines justice as we approach this election.”
