The President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, Odeefo Amoakwa Buadu VII, has pledged to support the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, in his bid to develop the Central Region if elected.
During a visit by Mahama and his running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, to the Central Regional House of Chiefs on Tuesday, July 30, Odeefo Amoakwa Buadu VII highlighted the region’s challenges, including poor road networks and youth unemployment.
He assured Mahama that the chiefs of the Central Region would collaborate with him to address these issues, stating, “When elected as President of Ghana, we’ll work together to bring development to the Central Region.
“We acknowledge the road works in the region, but most of them have been abandoned. We’ll ensure our roads are well constructed. Additionally, we’ll work hand in hand to bring employment to the region.”
Odeefo Amoakwa Buadu VII also commended the NDC for selecting a representative from the Central Region, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, as the party’s running mate.
“We are happy that the party selected someone from the Central Region to be the vice flagbearer. We also thank John Mahama for maintaining Prof. Opoku Agyemang as his running mate.”
