The Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Mark Oliver-Kevor, is confident about the party’s overwhelming victory in the December 7 election.

Dr. Oliver-Kevor has declared that the NDC will win five additional seats currently held by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“The NDC will win five more seats. Since His Excellency John Mahama’s tour, the NPP is having sleepless nights. They have also hit the ground, hoping to boost their fortunes. But with two weeks to the election, it is rather too late,” he stated.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Dr. Oliver-Kevor emphasized that the Eastern Region remains a swing region.

“The Eastern Region is technically a swing region, and nobody can say it belongs entirely to any party. The NDC has won the region before, and we can win it again,” he said.

Currently, the NDC holds eight parliamentary seats in the region, but Dr. Oliver-Kevor is convinced that this number will increase to 13.

He, however, did not disclose the specific five seats the NDC is targeting.

With about 12 days to the 2024 general election, both the NPP and the NDC have intensified their campaign activities, aiming either to Break the 8 for continuity or to reset Ghana’s governance.
