Dr. Clement Apaak, the Member of Parliament for Builsa South, has taken a swipe at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over the government’s failure to construct the Pwalugu Multipurpose Dam in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region.

He is alleging that the government paid the contractors for the project over $11 million for no work done.

In 2018, Dr. Bawumia announced that the government was prepared to construct the Pwalugu Multipurpose Dam in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region.

The project he announced after completion will serve as a counter to the annual spillage of the Bagre Dam from Burkina Faso and also generate electricity for the region.

Dr. Apaak is questioning why the project has not seen the light of day despite the assurances given by the Vice President.

He disclosed in a tweet on X, formerly Twitter, that the government paid the Chinese contractor, MS PowerChina, $11.9 million for no work done on the Pwalugu irrigation dam.

He further alleged that the government further paid Morta Engineering $2.57 million for no work on the motorway expansion currently being done by MS Maripoma.

For this reason, he has asked Ghanaians to reject Dr. Bawumia in the 2024 presidential election so we can hold them accountable for the mess and mismanagement they have created.

“Govt paid Chinese contractor MS PowerChina $11.9 million for no work done on the Pwalugu irrigation dam. Govt further paid morta engils $2.57 million dollars for no work down on the motorway expansion currently been done by MS Maripoma.

Reject DMB [NADAA], Reject NPP. Let’s vote them out so that we can hold them accountable. Vote JM, Vote NDC!”
