The Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abass Nurudeen, has criticized Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for attempting to distance himself from the perceived failures of the current government led by President Akufo-Addo.

Speaking during an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Time on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Abass Nurudeen argued that Dr. Bawumia cannot evade accountability for the state of governance under the Akufo-Addo administration.

He asserted that both Dr. Bawumia and President Akufo-Addo are responsible for the current economic mess and challenges facing the country.

“Whether Dr. Bawumia likes it or not, he will run on the legacies of this failed Akufo-Addo government.

“But he has realized that if he runs on these legacies, it will go against him. So, he’s attempting to distance himself.

“However, no matter what, he cannot delink himself from the mess caused by him and Akufo-Addo,” Abass Nurudeen declared.

Abass Nurudeen’s comments are in reaction to Dr. Bawumia’s plea made during an event in Kwahu, where he urged Ghanaians to give him the mandate to address the challenges faced by the Akufo-Addo-led government.
