The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has advised senior security officers not to obey the orders of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and kill citizens during the December 7 elections.
He warned that the party will prosecute I’m officers who will help the NPP to subvert the will of the electorates, who he claims have decided to vote them out.
He issued the warning at Amanase in the Ayensuano constituency as part of his campaign tour of the Eastern region.
He recounted the deaths of the eight individuals during the 2020 general elections as a terrible experience that should not happen again.
He added that the party has all the facts and records about the security officers who participated in the killing of the eight people in 2020, and should the NDC win the 2024 elections, those individuals would be prosecuted.
“On the day of reckoning, the administration that pushed you to open fire on the people would have stepped down, leaving you to face the consequences. Be reminded that if they give instructions to open fire on citizens, they will not get away with it since crime has no expiry date.
“Today, some of them have benefited from that act, have been promoted to ministers, and are still threatening to repeat what they did in the previous elections.” Tell them they’re joking; whatever you do, remember that the first fool is not a fool,” he added.
