The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tano North Constituency, has criticised Dr Gideon Boako, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for his failure to lobby for more developmental projects for the constituency and particularly, his hometown.
The Tano North NDC Communication Bureau in a press statement recounted several challenges the constituency is faced with which, Dr Gideon Boako, could have solved easily using his position as Advisor to the Vice President, a position he has held for almost 8 years if he had anything better to offer the people of Tano North.
”The NPP primaries in Tano North selected Dr Gideon Boako who, for seven years of working at the Office of the Vice President and serving as the economic advisor to the Vice President, could not lobby for the construction of four major deplorable roads leading to his own hometown, Bomaa,” the statement noted.
The Communication Officer for the NDC in Tano North, Michael Boakye Houston, alleged that ”it is ridiculous for Dr Gideon Boako and Dr Freda Prempeh to spend huge sums of money on ordinary party primaries while constituents wallow in abject poverty.”
”It is clear and evident that monies meant to facilitate developmental projects in the constituency were pocketed and rather used for this party primaries and this tacitly explains why our dear constituency is helplessly stagnated in terms of development,” he added.
According to Michael Boakye Houston, Dr Gideon Boako is an integral member of the NPP government that has mismanaged the country and brought economic hardship to Ghanaians and urged the good people of Tano North to reject him with ease and go for Hon Pius Opoku who has an unblemished character and has the qualities to lead a positive change in Tano North.
